Watch! Babar Azam sportingly reenact the “Fat Babur” Meme with Marais Erasmus

Social Media can be a helpful but funny place, sometimes the joke can border on trolling and cruelty. Sports fans especially the cricket fans across the world don’t leave the chance to banter at their rivals in such situations.

Babar Azam was in the middle of one such meme where he was being poked fun at. The Pakistani captain is the middle of a series with England where they are already 1-0 down. The home team faces an uphill task to stay alive in the series with 3 more days left in the 2nd test at Multan.

The story as it happened –

There was an image of Babar Azam with a supposed paunch doing the rounds on social media on Friday. The Pakistani skipper was caught standing in the non-strikers end where he had obscured the unmissable figure of umpire Erasmus in the background.

The funny aspect of that image was it seemed as if Babar Azam had grown a paunch. The image was take early in the Pakistan innings with Azam standing side by side with Erasmus and the protruding belly of the umpire was seen peeking out making it seem as if Azam had put on weight.

Babar Azam re-enacts the meme –

It seems the Pakistani skipper too has seen the meme and wanted to re enact it with the umpire Erasmus. Babar Azam was seen standing side by side with umpire Erasmus during the 2nd English innings. The two could be seen having a laugh as the Pakistani skipper gave the South African friendly tap on the stomach before walking off.

England end the day with a lead of 281 –

Having bowled out Pakistan for 202, England got a lead of 79 in the 1st innings. Pakistan got the 1st wicket early when Zak Crawley was run out for 3. Abrar Ahmed then got Will Jacks bowled for 4 after being promoted to number 3. Joe Root and Ben Duckett then added 54 runs for the 3rd wicket before Root was out for 21 caught by Shafique off Ahmed.

Ben Duckett and Harry Brook added 68 runs in 15 overs with Duckett scoring his 2nd half century of the game. The left hander scored 79 before being castled by Ahmed with 6 fours in his innings. Ollie Pope too was out soon as he was run out for 4, at the end of the England were 202 for 5 with a lead of 281. Harry Brook was not out on 74 while captain Ben Stokes was on 16.
