Indore was jam-packed as it witnessed the 3rd and final T20I between India and South at the Holkar stadium. It was a special day for one man and it was none other than Rishabh Pant. India’s dynamic wicket keeper batter turned 25 on Tuesday as he was cheered on by the crowd with a rousing welcome. India won the toss and chose to field first as they bought 3 new faces into the team, while South Africa made one change.
Pant’s DRS appeal doesn’t interest Rohit Sharma –
Rishabh Pant may be celebrating his birthday, but there was no gift forthcoming from the Indian skipper. Just a ball after losing Bavuma, Rilee Rossouw came out to bat and there was a swipe across the line.
There was some noise when the ball from Umesh Yadav went down the leg side. Pant was animated and went up to Rohit to ask him to take the DRS. Pant could be heard saying “Bat Laga Tha Yaar”. Rohit though was unmoved and had a smile on his face when he decided against the DRS. The call was right as the ball had hit the hip of the batter and would have been not out.
Rilee Rossouw ton helps SA score 227 to flatten India –
Rilee Rossouw batting at 3, scored his 1st T20I ton for South Africa as he stayed not out on 100 off 48 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. The left hander was in attack mode right from the start. He went after every bowler and did not spare any loose deliveries.
De Kock scored his 2nd successive half century –
South African fans had gone after wicket keeper batter Quinton De Kock for his slow innings during the 2nd T20 on Sunday. At Indore, the left hander was in his groove as he added 90 runs in mere 8 overs with Rossouw. De Kock scored 68 off 43 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes.
Stubbs and Miller provide late flourish –
Tristan Stubbs had scored a duck and did not get a chance to bat in the 2nd game. On Tuesday, Stubbs played a vital cameo with 23 off 18 balls with 2 fours and a six. David Miller who scored 106 in a losing cause, picked up from where he left off. Miller scored 19 off 5 balls with 3 sixes to his name.
Indian fans react to the Pant DRS query-
