Australia on Thursday beat England by 6 wickets to take an early lead in the 3 match series. The first game at Adelaide saw Australia win the game and take a 1-0 lead as they head into the 2nd game on Saturday at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Amidst all the international cricket happening, the players also have their eyes on the big IPL auction. The event is going to take place on 23rd December as a select few players are scheduled to go under the hammer for the TATA IPL 2023 season.

The story as it happened –

It was a big day for the TATA IPL teams and players as that was the day it was slated for players to be released or retained. Most of the teams released the players they deemed surplus to requirements for the upcoming season.

Jos Buttler sledges Cameron Green –

Chasing 288 to win, Australia began well before a few wickets towards the back end of the game. Cameron Green, came out to join Steve Smith and was having a tough time against Liam Dawson.  The tall all rounder wasn’t able to time the ball and deposit him out of the ground.

Jos Buttler, the English captain noticing this had a quip which began with “Good to see someone playing a show Daws!!!. This was followed by chats and comments of “Chasing the ink Daws” before finally Buttler said “Big auction coming up Daws”


Huge names up for grabs during TATA IPL auction –

Cameron Green will be entering the TATA IPL auction for the ever time. The Australian all rounder impressed everyone with his batting and bowling during the tour of India. Green scored a few half centuries and bowled well during the final game at Hyderabad.

The other names up for grabs are English duo of Ben Stokes and Sam Curran. The two players played a huge part for England in their latest 2022 ICC World T20 win. Kane Williamson and Nicolas Pooran are the other player who could start a bidding war as the two were released by SRH.

The IPL auctions is on 23rd December, slated to be held at Kochi while the TATA IPL 2023 season will start March next year. Gujarat Titans are the defending champions under Hardik Pandya after having won the title in their 1st year in the league.
