India began their tour of the United Kingdom with the first T20 against Ireland. The Indian team had a new captain for the Two match series in the form of Hardik Pandya. It was an impressive as India wrapped up the game in quick time with 7 wickets in hand. The match was shortened to a 12 over per side contest as there were rains early in the day. India won the toss and chose to bowl and Umran Malik made his debut for the Indian side.

Ishan Kishan starts off in grand style –

India were given the task of chasing 109 runs from 12 overs, as the openers strode on to the wicket. Ishan Kishan was joined by Deepak Hooda at the top of the order, while Hooda began slow it was Ishan Kishan who went after the bowlers. Kishan was on 26 off 10 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes and in a mood to dominate the Ireland bowlers. That’s when Craig Young bowling his first over bowled one full to Kishan. The left hander went for a slog across the line and saw the ball crash into the stumps. Kishan was out for 26 off 11 balls after giving India a flying start.

India romp home to easy win –

Deepak Hooda was promoted to open the batting instead of Ruturaj Gaikwad, and the man from Rajasthan scored a quick fire 47 not out. Surya Kumar Yadav scored a first ball duck as he too fell to Craig Young, Hooda was joined by Pandya at number 4 and the Indian captain 24 off 12 balls with a four and 3 sixes. Pandya was out LBW in the dying stages of the game and Dinesh Karthik scored 5 runs off 4 balls with a four to his name to seal the deal for India and go 1-0 up in the 2 match series.
