Indian cricket and its future is in bright hands after what the fans witnessed on Tuesday during the 2nd T20 between India and Ireland. The men in blue won the game by 4 runs to win the series 2-0 and in the process found a new match winner. 27 year old Deepak Hooda was the toast of the nation as he became the 4th Indian batter to register a T20 100. Hooda who opened the batting last game had the fans amazed with the strokeplay and clean hitting of the ball.

Hooda gets going early –

India lost their first wicket with the score reading 13 on the board in the form of Ishan Kishan. The 23 year old walked down the wicket to hit Mark Adair only to get a thick edge behind to keeper Lorcan Tucker. In walked Deepak Hooda at number 3, just days after opening the batting for India and scoring 47 not out in the first game. The 27 year old from Rajasthan was quick to seize on the opportunity to score runs along with Sanju Samson who was opening the batting.

Deepak Hooda becomes the 4th Indian to score T20 100 –

Once Deepak Hooda crossed his half century, he went after the Irish bowlers as he cut and pulled them for fours and sixes. He was brutal against anything that was bowled short to him. Hooda got his next 50 in another 28 balls he scored a 100 in 55 balls to become the 4th Indian after Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to scored international T20 hundreds. This was the 8th overall century for India in T20 cricket, with Rohit scoring 4, Rahul with 2 and Raina with one century.

Deepak Hooda’s hurricane knock was finally ended by Joshua Little when he had Hooda caught by Andy Balbirnie for 104. The knock came off 57 balls with 9 fours and six massive sixes. Post the knock the Indian cricket fans took to twitter to laud the 27 year old for his knock.
