Malahide cricket ground on Tuesday witnessed a great game of T20 cricket as Ireland nearly did the impossible. The Irish gave the Indian team a massive scare as they almost chased down the 226 run target. In the end, India kept their cool and held on to a 4 run win to take the series 2-0. The fighting spirit by Ireland won the hearts of the Indian fans and were lauded by stand-in captain Hardik Pandya. The men in blue now hop into England to play 3 T20 and ODI games once the test match is done.

The incident in question happened in the 8th over of the innings with captain Andrew Balbirnie facing Ravi Bishnoi. The Irish batter came down the wicket to smack the spinner for a six. he missed the line of the ball, the ball was collected by Ishan Kishan. That’s when Ishan Kishan decided to wait a bit before getting rid of the bails, which seemed a bit disrespectful. Few seconds later it was learnt that, Ravi Bishnoi had overstepped and the ball was called a no ball. Balbirnie had the last laugh and he was seen having a word with Kishan.

Ireland give India a massive scare –

Chasing 226 to win, the Irish openers Paul Stirling and Balbirnie put up 72 run stand for the first wicket in mere 34 balls. Stirling survived a DRS call before falling next ball to Bishnoi for 18 ball 40. Balbirnie scored a quickfire 37 ball 60 with 7 sixes in his innings before Harshal Patel had caught by Bishnoi. Last game’s hero Harry Tector impressed again with 39 off 28 balls before falling to Bhuvneshwar Kumar caught by Deepak Hooda. With Ireland needing 17 off the last over, Umran Malik kept his cool despite bowling a no ball in the final over. India won the game by 4 runs not before being given a scare by the home team.
