Watch! Ishant Sharma loses his cool at Maharashtra batter as Twitter reacts

2022 season of Ranji Trophy began on Tuesday with the first day being dominated with some amazing performances. Some of the big name Indian players were under focus as the world biggest domestic competition took place.

One of the biggest earliest game was between Maharashtra and Delhi at the MCA ground at Pune. The match is featuring Indian fringe players like Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana. Delhi also has out of favor Indian seamer Ishant Sharma who is trying to make his comeback to the Indian test match team.

Ishant Sharma loses his cool –

Mayank Yadav was bowling to Naushad Shaikh during the 27th over of the Maharashtra innings.  Maharashtra were 68 for with Shaikh being kept company by Siddesh Veer. The batter got a huge edge which went to the slips and the slip fielder completed the catch.

The umpire for some reason deemed this not out saying that the ball had touched the ground before carrying to the fielder. The entire Delhi team was aghast and none more than Ishant Sharma. The lanky pacer walked upto Naushad Shaikh and was seen having some tense and stern words with the 31 year old batter.

Manoj Ingale’s fifer bowls out Delhi for 191 –

Maharashtra won the toss and chose to bowl first, Dhruv Shorey and Anuj Rawat added 54 for the 1st wicket in quick time. Ingale then got the 1st wicket when he had Rawat bowled for 24. Delhi’s youngest Ranji skipper, Yash Dhull scored 40, while Dhruv Shory scored 41 as Delhi went into lunch at 135/5.

Post lunch, Manoj Ingale ran through the Delhi batting as he picked 5/43 to bowl out Delhi for 191 in the 49th over. Himmat Singh was the top scorer with 49 off 71 balls with 7 fours and a six.

Delhi bowlers fight back –

Delhi seamers, Ishant Sharma, Simrarjeet Singh and Mayank Yadav picked 4 wickets to reduce Maharashtra to 80/5 at stumps. Singh got the wickets of Pawan Shah and Kaushal Tamble for 3 and 0 respectively.

Mayank Yadav got the wicket of Siddesh Veer for 23, while Rahul Tripathi fell for 1 to Ishant Sharma. At the end of the day, Yash Dhull ran out Satyajeet Bachhav for a duck. Naushad Shaikh was not out on 44 off 72 balls with 8 fours as Delhi will look to continue their amazing bowling form on the 2nd day.
