The talent supply from Jammu and Kashmir hasn’t stopped with the number of exceptional cricketers. Parvez Rasool was the first cricketer to play for India from J and K. Off- late the likes of Umran Malik has come into the equation and donned the national colors.

Recently, a twitter user named Mohsin Kamal had posted a video highlighting the talent of another fast bowler named Waseem Bashir. There is another cricketer who has caught the fancy of fans from J and K and he has already been called the next Hardik Pandya.

Aquib Nabi a star in the making?

26 year old Aquib Nabi was the star with the bowler as he took 4/39 on Monday against Kerala to help J and K reach the semi finals of the Vijay Hazare 2022 Trophy. Nabi, had the wickets of opener Rahul for 8 and then did the damage to the tailenders. The 26 year old then dismissed Sijomon for 32 followed by Chandran for 1 and Fazil Fanoos for 13.

Inspiring Vijay Hazare 2022 campaign so far –

Aquib Nabi has so far played 7 games this season and picked 15 wickets with the 4/39 versus Kerala being his best. With the bat, he has batted just 3 times out of 7 and scored 32 with a best of 15 not out.

Will he be picked in the IPL?

Taking to Twitter, Mohsin Kamal wrote “to all #IPL franchises: if you want a fast bowling all-rounder. Aquib Nabi from J and K is the best you could get! He swings the new ball, can hit the deck hard, and bowl those cutters, bouncers and Yorkers! And with the bat, he can hit the long ball! Before posting the 51 second video of the 26 year old player.


Aquib Nabi’s career so far –

Nabi, made his debut as a 24 year old for Jammu and Kashmir in early 2020 before the entire world went into Lockdown due to COVID-19 crisis. The youngster has played 10 first class matches picking 28 wickets. Nabi, has already picked 2 five wicket hauls and scored 313 runs with a best of 46.

Speaking of the white ball form, he has played 19 LIST A games picking 27 wickets and scoring 171 runs. In the T20 format, he has played 17 games and picked 19 games and scored 67 runs with a strike rate of 115. He has hit 1 four and 5 sixes in his 17 game career batting at number 7 and 8.
