India began the 2nd day of their final test versus England at 338 for 7 with Jadeja and Shami in the middle. The Indian team was hoping for a score of 400 against a England batting side which was high on confidence. India were given a great end to the day after Rishabh Pant scored his 5th test to give India a much needed boost after being reduced tom 98 for 5. The 2nd day saw more drama this time from Jasprit Bumrah with the bat. \

Bumrah does a Rishabh Pant –

Overnight batters Shami and Jadeja added 48, before Shami became Broad’s 550th test wicket. In walked Bumrah and saw Jadeja get his 3rd test ton for India and soon get out for 104. The stage was set for some last wicket fun and all the fun came from the bat of Bumrah. The incident in question happened in the 4th ball of the 84th over of the innings. Broad came round the wicket and bowled to Bumrah while playing a shot across the line. Bumrah fell like Pant and the ball went for a four much to the amusement of the Indian players in the balcony.

World record for Bumrah –

Bumrah entered the world record for his batting as he scored 35 runs pff Broad to make it the costliest over in the history of test cricket. The first ball was a short ball which was pulled for 4. The next ball was way too short and went for 5 wides to make it 9 for 1 ball. The 2nd ball was again a no ball plus 6 runs off the bat off Bumrah to make 16 off 1. The 2nd ball was finally legal but it went for 4 to make it 20 off 2 balls, the 3rd ball saw Bumrah get an inside edge onto the stumps but it missed the timber to roll for 4 as India got its 400 up. The 4th ball saw Bumrah do a Rishabh Pant, while the 5th ball was hoicked for a huge six. With 34 off 5 runs the last ball was a perfect yorker as Bumrah ran single to make it 35.

Jadeja’s 3rd ton and Anderson’s fifer –

Ravindra Jadeja kept his fine run with the bat going as he scored his 3rd test ton. This was his first century away from home. Anderson too had a special day as he picked his 32nd five wicket haul for England and 6th versus India. India were all out for 416, England had lost the wicket of Lees for 6, with the score reading 16 for 1 before the rain came down.
