The three match test series between England and New Zealand is nearing its end. The three lions under Ben Stokes have been in phenomenal form with the bat and ball. Leeds is witnessing yet another strong performance from England. The home side look poised to win the 3rd test to make it a clean sweep for the series. There is no bigger man of the moment than Joe Root. The English run machine has left everyone stunned with his batting. On Sunday he left the Kiwis stunned as he did something really outrageous.

Joe Root reverse sweeps Neil Wagner –

Kiwi fast bowler Neil Wagner is by no means a spinner as the South African born left arm quick is known to be a mean spirit with the ball. the incident happened in the last ball of the 22nd over. England were at 94 for 2 and Joe Root was batting on 16 and he got a slower ball outside off stump. Root playing on his home ground shocked everyone by sitting on his knees and reverse sweeping a fast bowler for a six. This left the bowler and the Kiwi fielders stunned and rooted to the spot.

Tom Blundell helps NZ to a lead of 295-

New Zealand began the day with Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell, the two batters who have frustrated the English through the summer. Mitchell had already scored 3 centuries during the series was looking good for number 4. That’s when he was trapped LBW by Potts. Tom Blundell though kept the score board ticking as he went after the bowlers and mixed caution with aggression. By the time NZ were all out for 326, Blundell was left stranded on 88 off 161 balls with 15 fours. Jack Leach picked his 10th wicket of the game to finish at 10/166 for the game.

At the time of writing this, England were at 118 for 2 with Root on 25 and Pope on 51, they had lost the wickets of Lees for 9 via run out and Crawley for 25 caught by Williamson off Bracewell. Root and Pope had added 67 for the 3rd wicket in 16 overs with a run rate of above 4 runs per over. The match is in its 4th day and the way England are batting the 3-0 scoreline looks on the cards.
