India and Bangladesh began the 3 match ODI series on Sunday as India were touring Bangladesh after 7 years. All the Indian senior stars like captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were back. The trio had missed the trip to New Zealand for the 3 match series just a week ago under Shikhar Dhawan.

For the home team, Liton Das was the main under the lens as he was captaining his national side for the first time. Seniors like Taskin Ahmed and opener and regular skipper Tamim Iqbal were ruled out of the game due to injuries.

Debut for Kuldeep Sen as Pant is ruled out –

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first on a pitch which had a bit of grass covering. India handed the ODI debut cap to 26 year old pacer from MP the promising Kuldeep Sen.

The biggest news that came before the toss was that Rishabh Pant had been released from the squad. The 25 year old will join the team for the 2 match test series, no official statement on the reason behind the move has been given by the BCCI.

Virat Kohli left stunned by Liton Das effort –

Virat Kohli the former Indian captain has been in good form with the bat since his century versus Afghanistan. The 34 year facing Shakib Al Hasan went for a one handed drive. The ball seemed to be going for a four only for the Bangladeshi skipper to fling himself in the air and grab a stunning catch. Kohli was in disbelief as he was out for 9 off 15 balls with 1 four.

India rocked early –

Before the wicket of Kohli, India lost the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan for 7 after he was bowled by Mehidy Hasan while going for a reverse sweep. Dhawan and Rohit added 23 for the 1st wicket.

Rohit looked to be in an attacking frame of mind as he scored 27 off 31 balls with 4 fours and a six. Shakib bowling his first over went through the defences of the Indian captain as the left arm spinner left India reeling at 49/3.
