International cricket season is certainly keeping the players and the fans busy with so much cricketing action around. With all the international action around, there is also the domestic cricketing action which is going around. England is witnessing the 2nd season of the 100 and at the same time they have their premier domestic 50 over competition going on. Many of the players who are away from the international scene are taking part to stay match fit by playing in the Royal London Cup and one of those players is 26-year-old Australia international Matt Renshaw.

Matt Renshaw takes a blinder against Surrey –

Surrey and Somerset faced off on Wednesday in a rain affected game at the Oval. Surrey batted first and opened with Ben Geddes and Ryan Patel. With the score reading 27 for 1, Ryan Patel got a ball which climbed up a bit and took the outside edge of the bat. Somerset captain Matt Renshaw who was standing in the first step took a blinder which had the fans stunned. The 26 year old dived to his left like a football goal keeper to complete an amazing two handed catch.

Surrey score 302 for 9 batting first –

After the early fall of their opening batters, Surrey rebuilt their innings with Nico Reifer and Josh Blake with a 58 run stand. Blake was out for 36 from 46 balls with 5 fours and a six. Reifer and Gumbs then added 98 runs for the 4th wicket as both the batters mixed caution with aggression. Reifer was out for 70 from 85 balls with 7 fours and a six, while Gumbs scored 66 of 80 balls with 7 fours. Tom Lawes scored 49 ball 60 with 5 fours and a six to help the home side reach 302 on the board.

Somerset lose by 43 runs in rain affected match –

Chasing 303 to win, the somerset side saw rain play spoilsport, when the match began the visitors needed 112 to win from 12 overs. Lewis Goldworthy with 22 not out and Renshaw with 20 not out saw their side reach 68 from the 12 stipulated overs that they got to play. Matt Dunn picked one wicket while Tom Lawes who scored a quick fire 60 picked 2 wickets. Surrey won the game by 43 runs to pick 2 important points.
