Shimron Hetmyer turns into Pakistani meme guy –
Once the two runs were completed, the captain of Guyana Amazon Warriors, Shimron Hetmyer wasn’t pleased one bit. He had his hands on his hips in the classic tea pot pose. This reminded the fans of the meme guy from Pakistan during the 2019 world cup. Hetmyer could only stare in disbelief at the gaffe which had been committed by his bowler in giving away 2 unwanted and easy runs.
Jason Holder stands tall for Barbados Royals –
Former West Indian captain might be nearly 7 feet tall, but against the Warriors he stood tall in terms of batting performance. The warriors had in trouble early at 8 for 3 with Mayers out for a duck, Cornwall for 2 and Irish sensation Harry Tector for 5. That’s when Azam Khan and Holder added 51 for the 4th wicket. After the 51 run stand was broken there was more wickets which fell as Royals were bowled out for 125 in the 18th over. Holder top scored with 42 off 39 balls with a four and 3 sixes.
Warriors coast to an easy win –
Chasing 126 to win, The Warriors lost their opener Chanderpaul Hemraj for a duck and Shai Hope for 16, to be placed at 18 for 2. Bangladeshi skipper Shakib Al Hasan though added 79 for the 3rd wicket with Afghanistan player Rahmatullah Gurbaz to take the side to the steps of a win. Hasan scored 53 off 30 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes, Gurbaz scored 22 off 24, while Hetmyer scored 10 off 5 balls. The winning runs were hit by Keemo Paul who scored 12 not out.
