Pakistan cricket like the rest of the world is going through a phase of bac to back international cricket. The men in green recently hosted West Indies for a short ODI and T20 series. Earlier this year they had played host to Australia for a full fledged series for the first time 23 years. Pakistan are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for 2 match test series starting on 16th July. The first test will be played at Galle, while the 2nd and final game at SL’s capital Colombo.
Hasan Ali’s antics leave Pakistan in splits –
Pakistan recently played a intra squad match which was held at Rawalpindi. Hasan Ali was seen bowling to some of his team mates. The first ball was bowled to former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed who tucked it away for a single. The next ball was bowled with a hint of swing which came into the batter. Hasan Ali had huge appeal for LBW but the umpire did not oblige. The bowler hilariously ran towards the umpire to raise his finger and get the LBW decision going in his favor. It was all done in jest as the players had a huge laugh after it.
Huge series for Pakistan and Sri Lanka –
Sri Lanka are currently facing Australia in a two match test series, with both the games being played at Galle. Australia won the first test by 10 wickets in just two and half days to solidify their place at the top of the WTC table. Sri Lanka are number 4 on the table behind India, followed by Pakistan at 5. Series loss against Australia will put paid to Sri Lanka’s hopes of overtaking India. Pakistan too will come into the series looking to pick key WTC points. Babar Azam led side lost the 3 match test series earlier this home to Australia with 1-0 margin.
Its all fun and games in the Pakistan camp, but come 16th July, the men in green know the task at hand as they face of Karunaratne’s Sri Lanka side in a series which has lots riding on it as far as WTC points are concerned.
