Indian cricket team showed their dominance with the bat and ball yet again as they swatted aside the Zimbabweans. India won the 2nd ODI and the series to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the series as they won the game by 5 wickets. This match was closer in terms of India losing 5 wickets, but a target of 162 was never going to keep the Indian team quaking in their boots. One of the main players for India who has grown in stature is none other than Sanju Samson.

Sanju Samson regals the fans with a huge hit to close the game –

Sanju Samson has been becoming a huge pick for India in the last few months as he shown promise with the bat and behind the stumps. Samson played a huge role in the 3-0 series win against West Indies. The 27 year old on Saturday was in his elements yet again with the bat. With India needing just 1 run, Samson was seen having a word with Regis Chakabva the Zimbabwe captain and wicket keeper. The crowd was chanting Samson’s name as he had a smile on his face exchanging words with Chakabva. The fielders were called in and Samson went downtown to hit a huge six to finish the game and give India a 5 wicket win.

Indian bowlers skittle out Zimbabwe for 161 –

Sean Williams with 42, Ryan Burl an unbeaten 39 and Kaia and Raza with 16 were the only 4 batters who reached double figures. India won the toss and shockingly put Zimbabwe into bat yet again. Thakur picked 3 wickets while the rest of the bowlers picked a wicket each with 2 run outs in the back end of the innings.

Zimbabwe show fight with the ball –

Chasing 162 to win, India saw KL Rahul walk into open the battin alongside Dhawan, but the Indian captain was out for just 1. Tanaka Chivanga bowled with good pace and hit mid 140’s as he got the key wicket of Dhawan for 33. Gill also scored 33 before falling to Luke Jongwe. Sanju Samson though allayed any fears when he scored 43 off 39 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes to help the Indian team win the game with 24 overs in hand. Samson was later named the man of the match which was his first ever award in the blues for India.
