India cricket cap is a dream for many players and even the selection to the team is half a dream fulfilled. The Indian cricket team selectors met on Sunday to pick the team for the ODI squad for the 3-match series against South Africa. The team is seeing a few new faces with the first match on 6th October, the same day Indian team departs for Australia to take part in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Sarfaraz Khan leads the celebration in unique style –

Mukesh Kumar is part of the Rest of India squad which is playing Saurashtra in the Irani Trophy 2022 game. Sarfaraz Khan who is part of the ROI squad was seen leading the chorus in a short video. Khan began by saying “Aye Binod Pata hai na tumhe tum Indian team main select hue ho “ To which Mukesh Kumar replied “Haa Bhai”. The video ended with the entire shouting Hip- Hip Hooray”


Mukesh Kumar learns his selection via different source –

28 year old medium pacer from Bengal, Mukesh Kumar learnt of his selection via different source. The Indian call up was learnt via the Indian team’s WhatsApp group. Mukesh Kumar said that he realized he was part of the Indian team once he was made a part of the Indian team’s group WhatsApp.

Mukesh’s Kumar inspired spell –

Saurashtra was blown away for 98 in the 1st innings during the Irani Trophy 2022 game and the main destroyer was Mukesh Kumar. The 28 year old picked 4/23 in the first innings. Kumar got the wickets of Harvik Desai, Snell Patel, Chirag Jani and Sheldon Jackson to reduce Saurashtra to 34/6. Mukesh Kumar had also picked 9 wickets in the 3 games against New Zealand A game with one 5 wicket haul.

Mukesh Kumar’s career numbers –

Mukesh Kumar made his Bengal debut in 2015 and so far has played 30 first class games picking 109 wickets. He has picked 5 wickets on 5 occasions with a best of 6/61. Kumar also has played 18 List A games picking 17 wickets, while picking 19 wickets T20 games. Interestingly, Mukesh Kumar hasn’t been part of the IPL yet and is yet to make his debut.
