Watch! Sheldon Jackson nearly comes to blows as umpires separate the duo

Syed Mushtaq Ali 2022 began with cricketing action with the bat and ball doing the talking. The likes of Devdutt Padikkal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have already laid down the marker with the bat. The tournament which began on Tuesday, saw the 2nd round of games being played on Wednesday with some big names playing each other. One of the big games in question is the Gujarat derby between Baroda and Saurashtra and the game was living upto its tag.

Rayudu and Jackson come face to face before umpire separate the pair –

Ambati Rayudu has always been known for his temper on and off the field. Wednesday the former India player clashed with Baroda player Sheldon Jackson. The incident happened after Rayudu was seen telling the umpire that Jackson was taking a lot of time to bat.

This saw Jackson and Rayudu starting to have words and walk to each other and nearly face up. The umpires and Krunal Pandya then came to calm down the situation sort the things out. Even after the cooling off the two could be seen talking to each other.


50’s by Patel and Solanki help Baroda reach 175 –

Batting first, Baroda opened with Dhruv and Mitesh Patel. The pair saw off the initial few overs before Dhruv fell for 13 off 27 balls. It was Mitesh the wicket keeper who was aggressive with 60 off 35 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Vishnu Solanki then came to the wicket to score 51 off 33 balls with 6 fours and a six. Krunal Pandya stayed not out on 17, while skipper Rayudu scored a duck. Bhanu Pania scored 10 ball 26 not out to help Bqroda reach 175 on the board.

Samarth Vyas 97 helps Saurashtra win the game –

Cheteshwar Pujara came out to open with Tarang Gohel but the openers were very slow off the blocks. Gohel scored 4, while Pujara struggled to get going and was out for 14 off 18 balls.

Samarth Vyas took over the scoring and went after the bowlers to smack 97 off 52 balls with 5 fours and 9 sixes. Despite the fall of wickets at other end, Vyas kept going before getting dismissed by Gandhi 3 runs short of his ton. Jay Gohil 17* and Chirag Jani 7* helped Baroda overhaul the target with 4 wickets and 2 balls to spare.
