India and South Africa square off for the last time in the short 3 match T20I series. The Indian team has already wrapped up the series after wins in Kerala and Guwahati. For South Africa there was nothing to play for apart from pride. India having won the series had other headaches as they had to solve their bowling issues.
India makes 3 changes to the team β
India won the toss and chose to field on a batting friendly and electric outfield at the Holkar Stadium at Indore. India had already released KL Rahul and Virat Kohli and in their place came Umesh Yadav and Shreyas Iyer. Arshdeep Singh was rested as a precaution for back issues and Mohammad Siraj replaced him. Dwaine Pretorius came in for Anrich Nortje the sole change for South Africa.
South Africa nearly make a huge mistake in their first ball β
Quinton De Kock and Temba Bavuma opened the batting for South Africa and the new ball was given to Deepak Chahar. De Kock, facing the first ball nearly made a mistake when he set off for a single. Bavuma responded to the call late and denied the single. Iyer was a tad bit late in picking the ball and sending it back to the wicket keeper but De Kock was back home in time.
Bavuma has a series to forget β
South African skipper Temba Bavuma had twice been dismissed for duck in the 1st two game of the series. Umesh Yadav playing his 1st game of the series had the Protea skipper out for 3. Bavuma went for a pull after playing 7 balls for his 3 runs and was caught buy his opposite number Rohit Sharma to give India their 1st wicket in first ball of the 5th over.
