India’s 3 match series Australia might be over, the Indian team is now on to the next challenge. India will take on South Africa in a white ball bilateral series for the 3rd time this calendar year. India had started 2022 with a 3 match ODI series at South Africa. The South Africans then played a 4 match T20 series (originally 5, but the final match was rained out). The two teams meet yet again as they are set to lock horns in a 3 game T20 and ODI series.

The story as it happened –

India and South Africa are set face off each other in the 1st T20I on Wednesday at Kerala. The Indian team are coming back off a series win against world T20 champions Australia on Sunday. Virat Kohli showed his class with the bat as he scored an imperious 63 while chasing the 187-run target set by the visitors. While Kohli has hogged the headlines with the bat, his antics post the game has caught the eyes of the fans.

Virat Kohli played a match winning knock and supported Surya Kumar Yadav who scored 36 ball 69. Post the game, Kohli was awarded the “Energetic player of the match” award. Kohli was seen taking the award and rushing towards the Indian team and sharing a laugh. One user had posted the entire incident in a short video clip on micro blogging social media site Twitter.


Kohli comes back into form –

Virat Kohli scored his 71st international century during the final game of the Super 4 stage against Afghanistan. In the first match at Mohali, he was out after scoring single digit. In the rain curtailed game at Nagpur, Kohli scored a quickfire 11 to aid Rohit Sharma during a tricky chase. The 63 he scored on Sunday helped India not only win the match, but also the series. it also signaled the return to prime form of Chase Master, Virat Kohli.

The ghost of Zampa put behind –

Australian leg spinner, Adam Zampa has traditionally had wood over Virat Kohli. The 33 year old on Sunday put the record straight by going after the leg spinner. Kohli post the game said “I have to utilise my experience and had to take down Zampa. I looked at the dugout and both Rahul and Rohit asked me to continue batting. I have enjoyed batting ever since I came back. Today also I was an hour and a half before the team. I am excited and happy with my contributions. Just trying to place in safe space”
