It was a crazy day and one to remember for the crazy fans who had gathered at the VCA stadium at Nagpur. India won the rain truncated game by 6 wickets to equal the series at 1-1. The two teams now move to Hyderabad to play the last game on Sunday and take the honors of winning the series.

The story so far –

India lost the 1st game at Mohali on Tuesday when Australia chased down the 209 run target. Matthew Wade’s brutal assault towards the backend of the game took the game away from India. This was despite the Indian batting putting up a massive score on the board on a good batting pitch.

Virat Kohli’s response to fans on hearing RCB chants –

Virat Kohli without doubt is one of the biggest names in cricketing world. Along with Rohit Sharma, the former Indian skipper enjoys a massive fan support. Post the game on Friday, the fans went into over drive and started to chant RCB… RCB. Spotting this, Kohli pointed towards his Indian badge and even Virat Kohli’s RCB teammate Harshal Patel couldn’t control a chuckle.

Mixed bag day in the field for Kohli –

Virat Kohli was expected to score runs for India post his century in the final game of the Asia Cup against Afghanistan. Kohli managed a single figure score in the 1st game. On Friday, he first dropped a difficult catch off Green, but followed it up with a run out remove the all-rounder. With the bat, Kohli kept the score board ticking with a quickfire 11 with two crisp boundaries before falling to his nemesis Adam Zampa.

Rohit Sharma comes to the fore –

India had to chase down 91 runs from the 8 overs and it was a steep task at hand. Indian captain Rohit Sharma though had other ideas. He began the chase with 2 massive sixes off Hazlewood to have India on their way. Rohit hit 4 fours and 4 sixes to keep India in the game and ended with 20 ball 46 to be named the player of the match.

Dinesh Karthik finishes the game in style –

Veteran India batter and wicket keeper Dinesh Karthik was sent ahead of Rishabh Pant. With the final over starting, Daniel Sams ran into bowl and had to defend 9 runs off the over. The first ball, DK had a wild slog across the line to hit a six. Sams bowled a short ball only for DK to heave and pull it for a four to win the game.

India now head to Hyderabad with the scoreline at 1-1 as they won the 2nd match by 6 wickets and 4 balls to spare.
