Day 3 turned out to be a action packed day between India and Bangladesh at the Sher-E-Bangla stadium. The home team had set India a target of 145 to win the game and the series. at stumps India were 45/4 still needing 100 runs with just 6 wickets in hand.
India had lost their top 4 who perished to the spin bowling of Bangladeshis. With every fall of wicket, the Bangladeshi players and fans were ecstatic as Bangladesh were dreaming of their 1st ever test win over India.
Virat Kohli’s fight with Bangladeshi players –
It was yet another disappointing test outing for Virat Kohli as he was out for 1 off 21 balls. On Saturday, he was caught at short leg by Mominul Haque off the bowling of Mehidy Hasan. Just as Kohli was walking back to the pavilion he turned around aggressively and gestured to someone in a menacing. The home team skipper Shakib Al Hasan and the umpires came to calm the situation before Shakib asked his team to tone down their celebrations.

3 year wait continues for Kohli in test cricket –
Virat Kohli last scored a century in November 2019 when he scored 136 against Bangladesh at Kolkata. Since then the century drought for Kohli in test cricket continues. The 34 year old has not scored a half century in test cricket for a while now after his dual failures during the sole test against England in July 2022.
KL Rahul disappoints yet again-
Speaking of failure, KL Rahul who is the captain of the side in the absence of Rohit Sharma fell for 1. Since his century against South Africa in the 1st test last year, Rahul has endured a bad patch with the bat.
All eyes on Iyer and Pant –
At stumps, Axar Patel was with the nightwatchman Jaydev Unadkat with India needing 100 runs more. Mehidy has picked 3 wickets with the ball as he got the wickets of Gill, Pujara and Kohli. The Indian skipper was sent back by his counterpart Shakib Al Hasan. The Indian fans will hope that the duo of Patel and Unadkat can score some more runs. The fans will though have their eyes on Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer to save India from a potential humiliating loss.
