Indian cricket team embarks on yet another journey as they seek to win an ICC silverware after 9 years. The T20 World Cup begins on Sunday with the qualifying games to begin with 2014 champs Sri Lanka and twice champs West Indies looking to qualify for the super 12 stages.

India begins their campaign on the 23rd with the match against Pakistan which is to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The last time the two teams met in a ICC event, Pakistan had won their 1st world cup game against India by ten wickets during the 2021 T20 World Cup and India will be looking to exact revenge for the loss.

Virat Kohli’s focused stint at the nets –

The entire focus of the Indian fans will be on the blade of former India skipper Virat Kohli. The 33 year old looked focused and in the zone during the nets session with the bat in hand. Kohli had lost track of the time he had in the nets when the coach reminded him “Virat your time is up”.

Hearing the coach, Virat Kohli realized his stint was indeed over and said “Hooda aayega, toh main chala jaunga”. The video was posted on twitter was off 34 seconds but showed the commitment Kohli was showing to work on his batting and perhaps his shortcomings before the marquee event.

Virat Kohli wasn’t part of the warm up games –

India played two warm up games against Western Australia at the famed WACA grounds on Monday and Thursday. India had a mixed result, they won the 1st game before losing the 2nd. Virat Kohli wasn’t a part of both the games which had the fans confused about the reason.

Finding form in the nick of time –

Kohli during the last game of the Super 4 stage against Afghanistan during the 2022 Asia Cup broke his century drought. Kohli scored his 71st international ton to signal his comeback to form. He also scored a crucial 50 against Australia during the final T20 at Hyderabad to help India win the series 2-1.

The form of Virat Kohli will be crucial as they play Pakistan in their first game of the 2022 T20 World Cup. India and Virat Kohli will be next seen playing against Australia and New Zealand in the 2 ICC organized Warm up games on 17th and 19th at Brisbane Gabba.
