Aakash Chopra and Vikrant Gupta had a tussle on Twitter and Youtube over Rohit Sharma. It all started when Chopra asked his followers on Twitter if Rohit Sharma could replicate the same success with other teams. ‘Could Rohit had won five IPL if he had a team like RCB’
What’s the story?
Rohit Sharma replied back to Chopra’s question saying, “Lot of people, I hear say that can he (Rohit) do it with other teams? Firstly, why shall I need to do it with other teams? There is a certain way this franchise wants to go and same direction I want to go as well, both as a player and leader.” Sports Tak went on to post this statement of Sharma as a response to Aakash Chopra’s comment. This did not go well with Chopra and the former Indian batter got engaged in a heated conversation. He then took a jibe at Aaj Tak during one of the episodes of his own show Akashvani.
A heated conversation between two Youtubers
A Twitter user highlighted the same and wrote, “sir aaj aapne indirectly kya dhoya @sports_ta and @vikrantgupta73 ko aaj ki video me!!” The situation spiked a series of arguments in which Vikrant Gupta clearly showed his disappointment. Vikrant Gupta wrote, “A direct approach would have been better.”
Chopra replied, “How did your channel assume that he’s talking about me? Won’t it qualify as poor journalism? You’re assuming…insinuating…without actually confirming. I learnt from respected people like you that ethics in journalism are paramount. Maybe they are not anymore”. To this Gupta countered, “Okay, how many did question Rohit, asking if he can win with a particular team? Show me one and Sports Tak will publicly apologise to you. Secondly, your sarcasm or rant on your channel was on a different pretext not this one. Even that counts as insinuation”.
