Mohammed Shami started his IPL 2020 campaign with a bang. While playing his first match against DC, Shami wreaked havoc and picked up back to back early wickets. While his team has only won 1 out of the 6 matches played, the Bengal pacer can hold his head high. He has been their standout bowler and till very recently held the purple cap.
Meanwhile, Shami left fans baffled by posting a picture of himself relaxing in the pool. While there’s nothing out of ordinary in relaxing, his back was covered with reddish-black circles. His fans flooded the comments section asking him about the spots. The reason behind those big spots is cupping therapy. Many International athletes including the most successful Olympian of all time, Micheal Phelps use cupping therapy.

Cupping therapy helps in recovery and relaxation
During the cupping therapy session, special cups are placed on the back for a few minutes. The cups create suction and eventually help in muscle relaxation. It’s primarily helpful for reducing pain and helps in increased blood flow of the tissues. Shami had even posted a picture of himself while going through cupping therapy and captioned it “After cupping feeling so relaxed”.
