Indian Cricket: Watch! Chahal and Jadeja’s funny banter leaves social media in splits

West Indies broke the 4 year wait, as they beat India in the 2nd ODI on Saturday. The game at Barbados saw the home team beat the visitors with a comprehensive six wicket margin to make the series 1-1. India had won the first game on Thursday to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The series now moves to Trinidad as the final and deciding game of the series will be played on Tuesday, followed by the commencement of the five match T20 series.

The story as it happened –

Shai Hope the West Indies skipper won the toss and chose to bowl first. The home team made two changes as Joseph and Carty came into the XI. India made two changes as well, much to the surprise and shock of many. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were rested as Sanju Samson and Axar Patel came into the playing XI.

Chahal’s funny encounter with Jadeja goes viral –

Just like the 1st game, Yuzvendra Chahal did not find a place in the Indian playing XI. The 33 year old was warming the benches as Jadeja, Yadav and Patel were the front line spinners. Chahal, is known to be a prankster and this was in full view on Saturday.

Yuzvendra Chahal was standing close to Jadeja who was sorting his helmet in a bid to bat soon. That’s when the leg spinner was staring at the left arm spinner which evoked laughter out of Jadeja, who went on to pull Chahal’s cheeks in response.

India falter to 181 all out from 90 for no loss –

Put into bat first, India got off to a great start as the opening pair of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill added 90 in just 16.5 overs. Kishan, who had scored a half century in the 1st game scored his 2nd successive fifty in the series and 3rd consecutive half century of the tour. From 90/0 the Indian team collapsed to 181 all out in the 41st over.

Gill was out for 34 off 49 balls to Motie caught by Joseph, this was followed by the wicket of Kishan who was dismissed by Shepherd for 55. Samson failed to score runs when he was out for 9, while Hardik Pandya with 7 and Axar Patel with 1 fell in quick time to leave India reeling at 113/5.

Surya Kumar Yadav with 24, Shardul Thakur 16 and Jadeja with 10 then powered India on to 181 all out in 40.5 overs. Motie and Shepher picked 3 wickets each, while Joseph picked 2 as Cariah and Seales picked a wicket each.

Shai Hope leads his team to an easy win –

Chasing 182 to win, Kyle Mayers and Brandon King began the assault as they smashed the Indian bowlers around the park. Hardik Pandya, Mukesh Kumar and Umran Malik were carted with ease for runs. The introduction of Shardul Thakur changed the game as the 31 year old got Mayers and King in the same over. Thakur then got the wicket of Athanaze before Kuldeep Yadav got the wicket of Hetmyer. SHai Hope and Carty then saw the home team home as Hope was not out on 63, while Carty was not out on 48.
