It was a sad end to the two match test series as rain spoiled the final day’s play on Monday. The game at Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago ended in a draw after heavy rains meant that the game never got a start. The series ended 1-0 in favor of India giving them their 4th consecutive series win in West Indies. The drawn game also meant that India slipped to number 2 in the table for the World Test Championship cycle for 2023-2025.

Rohit Sharma’s look becomes a meme material –

Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, is known for his laidback and hilarious attitude. The 36 year old has over the years been one of the biggest internet sensations for his expressions and his antics while taking DRS calls.

Rohit Sharma did it again on day 4 on Sunday which has now become subject of memes. The Indian skipper was seen peeking out from the dressing room with a confused and perplexed look on his face. This caught the attention of the fans and left in splits.

Day five washed out as game ends in a draw –

As the game entered the fifth day, West Indies needed 289 runs with India needing 8 wickets. The entire first session was washed out and lunch was taken early. The rain relented for a bit that’s when it was seen that the game was about to start with the home team needing 289 runs with 67 overs to be bowled. That’s when the rains came down again and the game was ultimately called off.

Focus now moves to ODI cricket –

India and West Indies now will move to the three match ODI series which starts on 27th July. The West Indians welcomed back Shimron Hetmyer and Oshane Thomas back to the field. Shai Hope and Jason Holder did not find a place in the team as the two were part of the ODI world cup qualifiers. West Indies crashed out of the Qualifiers and in the process missed the ODI World Cup for the 1st time in their history.
