Indian cricket fans have been a divided bunch for the past few days. This Sunday we witnessed the mega clash between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The game was won by the home side by 8 wickets thanks to half centuries from captain Faf Du Plessis and former skipper Virat Kohli. The focus from the match isn’t dying due to all the incidents which came to light after the end of the game.

The story as it happened –

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was playing his 200th in T20 cricket as a skipper of the side. This year the 35 year old will complete ten years as the captain of the blue and gold team. it wasn’t an happy start to the tournament as the Mumbai team lost yet another opening encounter at the start of an IPL season.

Kohli’s unnoticed ‘Helmet Pe Maar’ jibe comes to light –

 The game on Sunday saw an unpleasant view as few fans from RCB decided to fat shame Rohit Sharma. There videos of the Indian and MI captain being called “Vada Pav”. Now there is a new footage which has come up and in this Virat Kohli can be heard screaming to Mohammad Siraj “Helmet pe maar iske”. This was after Rohit had taken a single of the 1st ball of the game and gone down to the other end.

While many fans on social media called this normal part of the game, they did not find the latest video against the nature of the game. Many fans on the other hand did not like Virat Kohli’s aggressive stance against his own national captain and called it uncalled for. The latest video has divided the fanbase even more.

Fans go head to head on social media after insult to Rohit Sharma

Indian fans have been at loggerheads ever since the “Vada Pav” chants at Bangalore. While Virat Kohli fans have been basking in the win over MI on Sunday, the Mumbai Indians fans have taken offence to the insult towards Rohit Sharma.

RCB take on KKR next as Mumbai get ready for El-Classico

The game on Thursday will see RCB travel to Kolkata to play the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. The KKR side come into the game after having lost the 1st game, while Mumbai will take on Chennai with the MSD led side having won their game against LSG. CSK and Mumbai have been having a difficult few seasons of IPL and they will hope to kick on their season with the early mega clash which is called the El-Classico of Cricket.
