IPL 2023: Gautam Gambhir takes a swipe at Kohli after Chennai’s 5th IPL title

TATA Indian Premier League ended in the early hours of Monday morning with Chennai winning its 5th title. This win meant that MS Dhoni became the 2nd ever skipper after Rohit Sharma to win the title 5 times. It was a cruel blow for Gujarat Titans and its fans as they waited till nearly 2 AM to watch the pulsating game only for their team to go down. In the end, the IPL season saw MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja jump into each other’s arms and celebrate an emotional title triumph.

Gautam Gambhir’s tweet aimed at Kohli?

Gautam Gambhir has been in the news this season of TATA IPL 2023 for his various run in with RCB team and its fans. The former opener turned Lucknow Super Giants mentor yet again had a slight go at the RCB team and Virat Kohli post the end of the final on Monday. Taking to Twitter, Gambhir wrote “Congratulations CSK! Winning 1 title is difficult, winning 5 is unbelieveable”

Gambhir’s storied rivalry with Kohli –

This year the matches between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants have been entertaining. After the last ball 1 wicket win at Bangalore, Gambhir was seen telling the RCB fans to quieten down. This followed the epic clash at Lucknow as RCB won a low scoring encounter.

Post the end of the game, there was a fiery exchange between Gambhir and Kohli. The former Indian and RCB skipper had his run in with Naveen Ul Haq and Amit Mishra which did not please Gautam Gambhir. The incident also saw Kyle Mayers get pulled into the argument as hot heads prevailed on 1st May.

Kohli trains guns for WTC final –

Meanwhile the Indian team is sweating it out in London as they prepare to face the big battles ahead. Indian team is headed back to nearly 11 months of international cricket with the world test championships final against Australia at the Oval. The game starts on 7th June as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be in action in a bid to win India their 1st silverware for nearly a decade.
