Chennai Super Kings are currently 3rd in the IPL table and are set to play Kolkata on Sunday. The men in yellow have played some outstanding cricket over the past few days to climb up the table. With this season set to be the last season for MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings want to give their captain a perfect send off.
The story so far –
One player who will not be part of the game against Kolkata is none other than Deepak Chahar. The 30 year old right arm pacer has been out injured since the game against Mumbai Indians after suffering an hamstring injury.
L. Sivaramakrishnan’s reply to S. Badrinath on Twitter –
Chennai Super Kings played against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday and won the game by 7 wickets. Before the start of the game, former Indian and Chennai batter S. Badrinath took to social media. Badrinath posted a link of his YouTube Channel and asked who will be the top scorer for CSK. The question was answered by L. Sivaramakrishnan who answered with the name of Deepak Chahar.
Fans outrage has the commentator apologize –
The reply from Sivaramakrishnan did not sit down well with the Chennai Super Kings fans. There was huge backlash about the comment and sensing things getting out of hand, Sivaramakrishnan decided to reply.
The former Indian player turned commentator said “to all @CSK IPL team, me and Badrinath have these kind of vague and contradictory humorous exchanges on the golf course. I should not have joked on Twitter. CSK is as much my favorite team like yours. Apoligies @CSKFansOfficial”
Deepak Chahar set for return soon –
The loss of Deepak Chahar was one of the many injuries Chennai have had to endure this season. Mukesh Chaudhary was already out for the season, while Ben Stokes and Sisanda Magala too are injured. Even captain MS Dhoni is nursing a knee injury and that has impacted his movements.
Deepak Chahar recently posted a short clip of himself bowling at the nets on his Instagram account. While a swift return isn’t expected, the 31 year old could play a part in the final few games of the league phase and perhaps also the play-offs.
