TATA Indian Premier League 2023 is finally coming to an end. The final game of the tournament will see a repeat of the 1st game. Gujarat Titans the defending champions will take on Chennai Super Kings led by MS Dhoni. The final is to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium at Ahmedabad in front of a capacity crowd.
The story so far –
Former Indian wicket keeper and IPL winner Parthiv Patel has made the seamless transition as an expert. Parthiv Patel (38) who is a native of Gujarat has won the IPL with Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians during his IPL career. The former Indian wicket keeper and batter recently named his IPL 2023 XI and left the fans surprised by dropping some big names.
All Indian top 3 with surprising player named captain –
Parthiv Patel named in form batters, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal as the openers for his side. Gill has scored over 800 runs with 3 centuries this year with his 129 off 60 balls vs MI getting the Titans to the final. Yashasvi Jaiswal too has impressed one and all with his over 600 run season for the Royals. Parthiv Patel has named Surya Kumar Yadav at 3 and also named him the captain of the side.
Strong middle order –
Parthiv has named South African wicket keeper and batter Heinrich Klassen at 4. The 31 year was a stand for Hyderabad in a sorry last place finish. At 5 and 6, it is the exciting Rinku Singh from KKR and Nicolas Pooran from Lucknow. Rinku Singh took the tournament by storm by hitting 5 back to back sixes to win the game against Gujarat.
The 25 year old from UP took his game to the next level as he showed his composure and finishing abilities. Nicolas Pooran who had a difficult few years in the league finally found his niche as he played a huge role for LSG’s run to the eliminator. Pooran at one point had scored the fastest 50 off the season against RCB in a steep run chase.
Power packed spin duo to take charge –
Axar Patel was the biggest positive for Delhi Capitals in a season filled with disappointment. Parthiv Patel has named his former teammate along with Rashid Khan of Gujarat Titans as the two spinners in the side.
Blockbuster pace bowling trio –
Mohammad Shami had the best season of IPL so far and sits at the top of the wicket taking columns. Parthiv Patel named Shami as one of the 3 seamers which also includes Mohammad Siraj from Bangalore and Chennai’s latest Lankan sensation Matheesha Pathirana.
