History waits for both the teams –

If Chennai Super Kings win the final it will be their 5th title and they will equal the record for the most titles won by Mumbai Indians. If Gujarat wins they will not only winj their 2nd title in a row but also become the 3rd team after Chennai and Mumbai to achieve this feat. Hardik Pandya also stands on the cusp of a major record as he can tie the 6 titles won by Rohit Sharma as the most won by a single player.

Rain threat over the game –

What happens if there is no play on Sunday –

In case there is rain and play cannot start on time, then the cut off for a 5 over game is 00:26 hours late on Sunday night. The BCCI had kept this cut off time for the play off and eliminator game in case of bad weather hampering play.

Is there reserve day?

The answer is yes there is a reserve day and the match doesn’t take place on Sunday then Monday 29th May will be the day when the IPL 2023 final will be played.

What happens if the match starts on Sunday but rain stops the game?

In case the game starts on Sunday but the rain plays spoil sport then there is a provision as well. The match will start from the point from where it was stopped on the previous day due to rain.

Toss and Super Over conditions –

If the coin is flipped on Sunday but the match doesn’t happen, then the toss will stay null and void. A new toss will be flipped on Monday, which means there will be new conditions and an entirely new match will take place.

If the rain continues to fall on Monday as well then the cut of time for a super over will be 1:20 AM on Tuesday.

What if even the reserve day is washed off and no super over is possible?

In case the match fails to start on both the days and even the super over isn’t possible, then Gujarat Titans will win their 2nd title. Since Gujarat finished at the top of the table, they will be announced the winners.
