IPL 2023: Sarfaraz Khan posts a cryptic message after being ignored for Indian selection

The BCCI announced the team that will travel to England to play Australia in the World Test Championships finals. The biggest game in the history of test cricket is set to see its 2nd ever finals after 2 years. Australia and India will engage in battle at the Oval stadium starting from the 7th of June to 11th. Early on Tuesday morning, the selectors named the 15-man squad which did not see many surprises.

Sarfaraz Khan’s social media reaction –

25 year old Sarfaraz Khan has been a stellar performer in Ranji Trophy cricket for the past few seasons. The Mumbai based batter had to face heartbreak yet again as he was ignored by the Indian selectors. Sarfaraz, taking to Twitter put up an emoji which signified someone writing, ending with heart broken emoji.


Yet another high scoring Ranji Season –

Over the past few years, Sarfaraz Khan has scored with ease and in numbers for Mumbai in the domestic circuit. The right handed batter scored over 550 runs last season with an average of above 90 yet again. Sarfaraz, had hit 3 centuries and one fifty for the 42 time title holders.

Big return for Ajinkya Rahane –

It was a huge day for Ajinkya Rahane as he found his way back into the team after over an year. The 34 year old last played for India in early 2022 during the tour of South Africa post which he was dropped.

Big runs help Rahane’s return –

Ever since getting dropped from the Indian team, Ajinkya Rahane went back to domestic cricket. This season, Rahane scored 634 runs which also included a double ton for Mumbai. Picked by the Chennai Super Kings, the 34 year old has been in prolific form scoring 2 half centuries and striking at nearly 200 this season. Rahane scored 71 off 29 balls vs KKR a knock which saw him hit 6 fours and 5 sixes.

No place for Surya Kumar Yadav –

Indian selectors decided to drop Surya Kumar Yadav from the test team as they decided to stick with KL Rahul instead. Yadav, has just found form with the bat for Mumbai Indians, but his struggles with the bat in recent times has seen him lose his place in the team.

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, KS Bharat, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammad Shami and Siraj.
