Mumbai Indians saw their two match winning streak snap after Chennai Super Kings coasted to an easy win. Four time IPL champions beat the 5 time champions by 6 wickers with over 2 overs to spare. The win gives Chennai 13 points from 11 games, while Mumbai have 10 points from 10 games. It was a day to remember for the noisy crowd at Chennai as they did the double over their arch rivals.

Third umpire’s delay raises doubts –

Chasing 140 to win, Chennai were coasting to an easy win. Piyush Chawla who has been the go to bowler for Mumbai was showing his worth yet again. The 34 year old spinner got Rahane plumb right in front. Rahane went upstairs after taking DRS in the final few seconds. The fans and players were astonished at the time taken by the 3rd umpire to give the decision. When the decision finally game it was seen that Rahane was out LBW.

Gaikwad and Conway get off to a blazing start –

Set a target of 140 to win, Mumbai’s wayward and inexperienced bowling saw Chennai make full use of the 1st six overs. The Chennai openers scored 46 runs in just 4 overs with Gaikwad showing his class. The 26 year old opener scored 30 off 16 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Chawla had the first wicket when Gaikwad was caught behind by Kishan.

Chennai take home an easy win –

Despite the loss of Gaikwad, the Chennai players did not let the pressure off Mumbai bowling. Rahane scored 21 off 17 balls with a four and a six. Conway was the top scorer with 44. His knock came off 42 balls with 4 fours. Shivam Dube scored 26 off 18 balls with 3 sixes, Rayudu scored 12, while Dhoni was not on 2 as Chennai moved into the 2nd spot in the table.
