x

The 20th game of the TATA Indian Premier League witnessed Delhi Capitals travel to Bangalore. The home team Royal Challengers Bangalore who had lost 2 games in a row were in the look out for a win. Delhi Capitals, meanwhile were bottom of the table after having lost 4 games in a row. David Warner and his men had lost a close game to Mumbai Indians just a few days ago.

The story as it happened –

Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bowl first. There was one change for Delhi as they got Mitchell Marsh to replace Rovman Powell. Bangalore gave a debut local bowler V. Vijaykumar, while Hasaranga replaced David Willey.

Abhishek Porel in the middle of banter for his DRS gaffe –

Mahipal Lomror was looking in decent nick with the bat after having scored 26 runs. The left hander went for a wild swipe outside off stump to Mitchell Marsh, in the 3rd ball of the 13th over.

While Marsh went up for an appeal, the wicket keeper Abhishek Porel wasn’t convinced. Still David Warner went up for the DRS, and there was a huge nick found on the edge of Lomror’s bat to send back him to the pavilion for 26. Axar Patel was seen having a banter with the young wicket keeper for nearly not going for the DRS.

Virat Kohli continues his good form –

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli was in elements yet again. After scoring a half century against Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants, the 34 year old scored his 3rd fifty of the season. Kohli, top scored with 50 off 34 balls with 6 fours and a six.

Must win match for Delhi –

The game is of special importance to Delhi Capitals as yet another loss will be their 5th in 5 games. The loss will also see them more or less out of contention for a place in the final four of the tournament.
