IPL 2023: Twitter reacts to Mohammad Siraj wasting a review for RCB

It is the final Thursday of the TATA Indian Premier League 2023 season’s league phase games. The game on Thursday saw Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium at Hyderabad. Bangalore needed a win to stay in contention for a place in the play off. They had come into the game on the back of a massive 112 run win over Rajasthan on Sunday. RCB had bowled out the royals for mere 59 to win the game and get their net run rate back into the positive.

The story as it happened –

Faf Du Plessis won the toss for Royal Challengers Bangalore and decided to bowl first. The team for the visiting RCB side was the same as the last game with Hasaranga still out. Hyderabad made a couple of changes as Harry Brook, Kartik Tyagi, Nitish Reddy and Mayank Dagar came into the playing XI.

Mohammad Siraj wastes review for RCB –

This year the bowling of Mohammad Siraj has been a massive reason for RCB’s success. The right arm seamer was playing against former IPL side in front of his home fans. If there is one area where Siraj has to improve it is the DRS call

On Thursday while bowling the 3rd over of the innings, there was a huge appeal from RCB wicket keeper Anuj Rawat. It seemed as if Abhishek Sharma had got a nick and even Siraj asked Faf Du Plessis to take the DRS. The 3rd umpire though did not find any edge and a review was wasted.

Klassen keeps Hyderabad afloat –

Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi came out to open and added 27 for the 1st wicket. Michael Bracewell who had replaced Hasaranga then picked two wickets in a single over. Sharma was out for 11, while Tripathi was out for 15 to leave SRH at 28/2.

Captain Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klassen then added 76 for the 3rd wicket with Klassen yet again showing his class. At the time of writing the South African was not out 63 off 34 balls with SRH reaching 112/3 from 14 overs. Klassen had hit 7 fours and 3 sixes in his knock.
