Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya was a happy man after he had seen his side beat Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets. The win was a dominating one as the defending champions won with over a lot of overs to spare. The defeat was yet another cruel blow for Samson and his side who not too long ago were 1st in the table.
Royals need for a win –
The last time Royals played a game at the Sawai Man Singh stadium was against Chennai Super Kings. The home team won the game by 32 runs and took the top spot, but with the table changing every day, Royals couldn’t slip up. That’s what happened, as they lost to spirited Mumbai Indians despite scoring 212 on the board.
Samson costs Rajasthan a key wicket –
Skipper Sanju Samson came out to bat at number 3 for Rajasthan on Friday. The incident happened in the 1st ball of the 6th over with Rashid Khan bowling to Samson. The Royals skipper went for a cut shot and the ball was fielded at point, as Mohit Sharma took the ball and threw it back to Rashid Khan.
Jaiswal was near in touching distance of Samson at the striker’s end and couldn’t make it back in time. Jaiswal who had scored 124 in the last game was out fore 14 off 11 balls with a four and a six to his name. The wicket came at perhaps the worst time as Jaiswal was looking set for a big score once again.
Buttler fails yet again –
English white ball captain, Jos Buttler was expected to repeat his heroics from the last season. Buttler though has found going tough this year as he was out for 8 off 6 balls falling to Hardik Pandya when he was caught by Mohit Sharma.
Monumental collapse by the Royals –
At one stage the Royals were 47/1, from there the entire team were all out for 118 on the board with 13 balls left to play. The Afghanistan spin duo of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed picked 5 wickets between them. Rashid ended with 3/ 14 from his 4 overs, while Noor Ahmed picked 2/25 from his 3 overs.
