IPL 2023: Twitter reacts to Trent Boult’s six nearly cleaning up the cameraman

U

Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur was the venue as Rajasthan Royals took on Gujarat Titans. The two teams already have a history as they played the finals of the 2022 TATA IPL with Gujarat winning it. Rajasthan had taken revenge when they beat Gujarat earlier this season by 3 wickets in the last over of the game. Both the teams were coming on the back of a loss. Rajasthan had lost to Mumbai despite scoring 212, while Titans had lost to Delhi Capitals while chasing 131.

The story as it happened –

Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bat first as he wanted to put runs on the board. Gujarat went in with the same side as a win will more or less guarantee their spot in the final 4. Rajasthan made one change, Jason Holder was replaced by Adam Zampa in the playing XI.

Trent Boult’s huge six cleans up the cameraman –

Trent Boult batted at nine on a day when the Royals batters failed to turn up. The Kiwi left arm seamer scored 15 which was the 2nd highest score by a Royals batter. The incident in question happened in the 3rd ball of the 16th over.

Noor Ahmed, saw Boult hit for a huge slog sweep that travelled a long way and went for a six. The incident didn’t end there, as the ball went on to hit the cameraman who took a tumble. The cameraman was tended to by the medical personnel of the Titans unit.

Shameful batting on display for Rajasthan Royals –

Only 4 batters crossed double figures on a day to forget for Rajasthan Royals with the bat. Samson scored 30 off 20 balls with 3 fours and a six. Paddikal (12), Jaiswal (14) and Boult (15) were the other contributors. The likes of Jos Buttler and Riyan Parag continued their bad form with the bat. Rashid Khan with 3 wickets was the lead wicket taker, while Noor Ahmed picked 2 as Royals were all out for 118.

Titans make short work of an easy chase –

Chasing 119 to win, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha added 71 for the 1st wicket. Gill was out stumped but after scoring 36 off 35 balls with 6 fours. Saha was not out on 41 off 34 balls with 5 fours, while Pandya scored 39 off 15 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Titans won by 9 wickets with 43 balls to spare as they firmed their grip on the top spot.
