IPL 2023: Twitter reacts to Wriddhiman Saha’s fashion disaster against Lucknow

G

Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants locked horns in the 1st game of the double header Sunday. The game was historic because for the first time, Hardik and Krunal Pandya were leading their respective sides. The game was played on a hot and sizzling day at Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The story as it happened –

Krunal Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first as both the teams made one change each. Naveen Ul Haq was replaced by Quinton De Kock, while Joshua Little who is back in international duty was replaced by Alzzari Joseph.

Saha’s fashion blunder has everyone in splits –

Lucknow Super Giants players faced a bit of wait in the middle as they got ready to bat. The reason for the delay was Wriddhiman Saha wasn’t yet on the field of play. Gujarat wanted to field KS Bharat as a substitute player

The decision was negated by the umpires who had noticed the home team wanted to bring in Joseph as the impact player. That’s when Saha came in and the wicketkeeper had worn his pant the wrong way. This made everyone in the ground and in the commentary box have a great laugh.

Gill and Saha lead Gujarat to 227 –

Gujarat Titans put into bat, scored a massive 227 on the board for the loss of just 2 wickets. The top scorer was Shubman Gill who got his career best score of 94. The knock came off 51 balls with 2 fours and 7 sixes. Saha scored 81 off 43 balls with 10 fours and 4 huge hits past the fence. Captain Hardik Pandya with 25 and David Miller with 21* were the other contributors as Titans ended with 227/2.

Mayers and De Kock come out blazing –

Chasing 228 to win, the Lucknow team blazed off to 75/0 from their first 6 overs. The start was possible due to Mayers who scored 48 off 32 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes in his knock. Mayers was out to Mohit Sharma caught by Rashid Khan to give the home team a massive breakthrough.

De Kock scores 70 on comeback game –

Quinton De Kock had missed the first few games of the season due to his international commitments. With Mayers and Rahul opening, the South African was made to sit on the bench. De Kock made good on his comeback as he scored 70 off 41 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Mohit Sharma bowls GT to an easy win –

The star of the show with the ball was veteran pacer Mohit Sharma. The 34 year old got the wickets of Mayers, Stoinis for 4, Badoni for 21 and Krunal Pandya for 1st ball duck. Gujarat Titans won the game by 56 runs and have more or less made their place in the final four confirmed.
