It is the 15th game of the season in the Indian Premier League. The game saw Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Lucknow Super Giants at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday. Both the teams were coming into the game on the back of varied results. Bangalore lost their last game to Kolkata Knight Riders. The Lucknow unit had come into the game on the back of a 5 run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The story as it happened –
KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bowl first, as Mark Wood came into the team. For Bangalore it was Mahipal Lomror and Anuj Rawat who came into the side. It was a chance for KL Rahul to avenge the loss against RCB in the playoff game last season.
Faf Du Plessis hits the biggest six of the season –
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli continued their good run of the form with the bat. The Bangalore captain was content in playing second fiddle to Virat Kohli.
Faf Du Plessis got a short ball from Ravi Bishnoi in the 4th ball of the 15th over. The South African rocked back on to his back foot and pulled a ball deep into the top tier of the Chinnaswamy Stadium and it travelled a whopping 115 meters.
Kohli gets off to a blazing start –
Just like the game against Mumbai Indians, the pair of Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli went after the Lucknow bowling. Kohli scored an amazing half century as he continued his good run with the bat. Kohli scored 61 off 44 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes as he took the attack to the opposition. The stand was broken when Amit Mishra bowled one short and Kohli went for a pull. The ball went straight to the hands of Marcus Stoinis who held on to an easy catch to send back Kohli. Both the teams will be looking to win the game and keep their good form going.
