IPL 2023: Watch! Glenn Maxwell plays an audacious shot against Chris Jordan

Wankhede Stadium was the venue as the 54th game of the tournament. It was a big game for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. A win for either team will take them into the top 4 in the points. Both the teams had 4 games left and a win will keep either of the teams to make it to the play-off places.

The story as it happened –

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first. The home team were already faced with the news of Jofra Archer being ruled out. Chris Jordan came into the XI to make his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians. Bangalore meanwhile made one change with Vyshak VijayKumar coming into the team.

Maxwell leaves everyone stunned with an audacious shot –

Glenn Maxwell has been batting like a dream during this season of TATA IPL 2023. The Australian on Tuesday left everyone stunned with an audacious shot. Chris Jordan was bowling the 11th over. The Englishman bowled wide outside off stump only to see Maxwell hit him over third man for a six using the reverse paddle scoop.

Bangalore lose two early wickets –

Virat Kohli was out early when he went down the track to hit Jason Behrendorff. The umpire at first did not give Kohli out. Ishan Kishan was confident as Mumbai went for DRS and the decision was changed. Anuj Rawat batting at number 3 went for a scoop shot only to be caught by Cameron Green to give Behrendorff his 2nd wicket.

Maxwell and Du Plessis punish Mumbai –

At 16/2 the Bangalore based side was in deep trouble, that’s when Glenn Maxwell and Faf Du Plessis added 120 for the 3rd wicket. The stand came in 61 balls as both the players were scoring runs with ease. Maxwell was out for 68 off 33 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes. De Plessis scored 65 off 41 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes.
