IPL 2023: Watch! MS Dhoni turns John Cena to turn down request to take DRS

Chennai Super Kings travelled to Lucknow to take on the Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday. For the second time this season, the fans are witnessing a double header on a weekday. For the Chennai Super Kings this was their 10th match of the season and they needed a win. Lucknow on the other hand were still seething from the loss to Bangalore and all that happened post the end of the game.

The story so far –

MS Dhoni and his side had lost their last two games to find themselves in the 4th place in the table. Before the game against Rajasthan Royals, the 4 time champions were sitting at the top of the table. Lucknow despite the loss to Bangalore were 3rd in the table with 10 points along with CSK, RCB, Rajasthan and Punjab Kings, but had a better run rate.

MS Dhoni does John Cena’s iconic ‘You Cant See Me’-

Sri Lankan spinner, Maheesh Theekshana was bought into the attack early. There was lot of turn on the Ekana Stadium at Lucknow. The incident in question happened in the 3rd ball off the 6th over.

Theekshana was bowling to Manan Vohra, who missed the ball and the bowler went up for an appeal. Theekshana looked at MS Dhoni who first signaled he did not hear anything. Then did the “You Cant See Me” style of known WWE fighter John Cena.


MS Dhoni to play 2024 season?

Early in the game, during the toss time there was huge excitement. The entire stadium had turned yellow to watch their favorite MS Dhoni take the field. Former Kiwi pacer, Danny Morrison who was conducting toss had a few words with MS Dhoni.

The former Kiwi pacer asked “Now then, clearly, this wonderful swansong tour is your last. How’re you enjoying it?. What Dhoni said next had the fans jumping in joy. Dhoni said “you’ve decided its my last, not me”. Morrison like the rest was overjoyed hearing this and said “love it.. so you are coming back… he is coming back okay?, he is coming back to play next year”
