IPL 2023: Watch! Nitish Rana abuses Hrithik Shokeen after being dismissed

Match 22 of the TATA Indian Premier League saw Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians play each other. Both the teams came into the game on the back of different results. Mumbai Indians had beaten Delhi Capitals in a last ball thrilled to take their 1st win of the season. Kolkata Knight Riders, had lost their last game to Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens.

The Story as it happened –

Surya Kumar Yadav won the toss and decided to bowl first on a hot Sunday afternoon at the Wankhede Stadium. Rohit Sharma was named in the substitute bench as Duan Jansen and Arjun Tendulkar made their Mumbai Indians debut.

Nitish Rana and Hrithik Shokeen’s war of words –

The 1st ball of the 9th over saw Hrithik Shokeen bowl to his Delhi team mate Nitish Rana. The left hander is the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders and has been in good form. Shokeen had Rana mistime the ball as substitute Ramandeep Singh took the catch.

Rana was out for 5 off 10 balls and just when he was out there were ugly scenes being witnessed. The Kolkata skipper turned to the young Mumbai spinner and started to abuse him in the worst form in Hindi. The two had to be separated as Mumbai skipper Surya Kumar Yadav played the peacemaker.


 



Venkatesh Iyer flattens Mumbai bowlers –

Left handed all rounder, Venkatesh Iyer was the man to watch out for on Sunday. Iyer went after the Mumbai bowlers and put them to the sword. At the time of writing he was batting on 98 from 47 balls with 5 fours and 9 sixes.

Chawla the star with the ball for Mumbai –

Piyush Chawla and Cameron Green got the initial wickets for Mumbai Indians. The Australian got the wicket of Jagadeesan for a duck, while Chawla got Gurbaz out for 8, before Rana fell to Shokeen for 5. Shardul Thakur became the 2nd wicket for Shokeen when he was caught by Tilak Varma for 13.

At the time of writing , KKR were on 150/4 with 20 balls left in the innings and Venkatesh Iyer scoring his century from 49 balls.
