IPL 2023: Watch! Virat Kohli makes a bold statement on his aggression

Royal Challengers Bangalore and its fans had a special surprise in the game against Punjab Kings. The mid week game on Thursday afternoon saw Virat Kohli come out to the toss as captain of the side. The 34 year old was captaining the Bangalore based side for the first time since 2021 IPL. Virat Kohli this year has found himself in good form with the bat as he is in the mix for the orange cap for TATA IPL 2023.

Virat Kohli is known for his aggression and he has been part of many verbal spats in the past. The former Indian captain has a separate fan base for his aggression which has been evident till now in the on-going TATA IPL 2023 season.

Kohli opens up about his aggression –

Virat Kohli recently sat down with Jatin Sapru for a chat. The show is called “Rising From The Ashes” for Star Sports India which has the TV rights for TATA IPL. Speaking about his aggression the former Indian captain said he only looks for Verbal fights and avoids Physical fights.

Kohli said “Physical toh chance hi nahi. Koi mujhe maar ke nikal jaayega, main toh mar jaunga, usko nahi pata kya hua”. Jatin Sapru then with a smile said “you know what the follow up question will be”. Kohli replied and said “Muh se kuch b bulwalo but main physical ladai nahi karta”


Kohli’s reason for not getting into fist fights –

Over the years, Virat Kohli has got into a lot of verbal spats with a lot of players. Australia and England have been at the receiving end of the verbals from Virat Kohli. Speaking to Jatin Sapru, Kohli said he knows the umpires will play peacemaker that’s why he sticks to verbal spats and not into fisticuffs.

Bangalore to see Kohli lead more?

Virat Kohli is likely to be the captain once again on Sunday afternoon as Bangalore face Rajasthan Royals. The game will be played at Chinnaswamy stadium. Bangalore then face Kolkata in a return encounter on Wednesday. The two games will likely see Kohli continue to be the captain as Faf Du Plessis might continue to be the impact player. Speaking about his form, Kohli has scored 279 runs from the 6 games he has played so far with an average of 55.8 and has hit 4 half centuries this season with a best of 82 not out against Mumbai Indians.
