IPL 2023: Watch David Warner and Ravindra Jadeja share a light hearted moment on the field

Arun Jaitley Stadium at New Delhi was the venue as Delhi Capitals hosted the Chennai Super Kings. This was the last time season that David Warner and Co will take field after their early elimination from the tournament. For Chennai Super Kings it was a clear equation. Win on Saturday afternoon will take them to the to the play-offs and also finish at the top 2 place in the table. In case of a top two finish the 4 time champs will face off against the title holders, Gujarat Titans.

The story as it happened –

MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first on a hot and humid day at Delhi as Chennai went in with the same team. Delhi made two changes as Chetan Sakariya came in to the side along with Lalit Yadav.

David Warner trolls Jadeja with the sword celebration –

Phil Salt and David Warner went in for a quick single and there a few mis fields. The first misfield saw Jadeja aim at the stump and Rahane back up. David Warner, threatened to take a single and Rahane was quick to throw and miss the stumps.Warner for a 2nd time tried to be cheeky and threaten with the CSK fielders with a single.

That’s when Jadeja was also seen playing along, and threatened to throw at the stumps. That’s when Warner mimicked Jadeja and did the Sword Celebration much to the amusement of the crowd and Phil Salt. Even Jadeja was seen laughing at the whole sequence of events that took place.

David Warner plays a lone hand yet again –

Chasing 224 to win on a slow and low Delhi wicket was never going to easy for the Delhi Capitals side. David Warner who has been the sole bright spark with the bat so far scored yet another half century this season. At the time of writing he was batting on 70 as he tried to keep the fight going.

CSK pacers rock Delhi ‘s top order –

Prithvi Shaw who scored a half century in the last game was out for 5 when Rayudu took an amazing catch off Tushar Deshpande. Deepak Chahar then struck twice in two balls. First he got the wicket of Phil Salt caught by Rahane for 3, and bowled Rossouw out for a first ball duck. Yash Dhull then hung around to add 49 runs for the 4th wicket with Warner before falling to Jadeja for 13. Axar Patel then became the 5th wicket after his 34 run stand with Warner as he was out to Chahar for 15.
