Chennai Super Kings stood atop the podium as they beat Gujarat Titans to win the 2023 season of TATA IPL. This was the 5th title for Chennai Super Kings, making them the most successful team along with Mumbai Indians as far as the titles won by teams are concerned. It was an emotional moment for 41 year old MS Dhoni as he played the entire tournament with pain in his knees. The former Indian skipper had an successful operation post the end of the tournament.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s future was hotly spoken about debated about during the entire TATA IPL 2023 season. Everywhere Dhoni went he was met with mass frenzy as the fans came out in droves to watch the former Indian skipper play. At the end of the TATA IPL 2023, MS Dhoni had said he will play one more season but that depends on his fitness and how he is able to recover.

Chennai Super King’s stirs the pot with social media post –

With the TATA IPL 2023 season over, cricket fans have moved their focus to international cricket. Chennai Super Kings on the other hand left the fans confused with a post on social media.

Chennai took to Twitter to post a short 33 second video of MS Dhoni walking up the stairs. They captioned the post with Oh Captain, My Captain”. The tweet had nearly 30,000 likes and over 300 replies. The nature of the video was rather emotional and sent the fans into confusion.


Is Dhoni thinking of retirement?

One of the biggest questions posed by the fans was if MS Dhoni is about to call it quits. Despite his promise to the fans, is the former Indian captain made his mind up to give the TATA IPL 2024 season?

The next season is nearly 10 months away and there is a lot of time for Dhoni to make up his mind. Former CSK and India team mate, Suresh Raina had said that Dhoni had told him if he wins the IPL he will play another season.
