Man arrested for threatening Hasin Jahan

Police arrested a man from Canning, West Bengal for threatening Mohammed Shami’s estranged wife Hasina Jahan. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the person was demanding money and abusing Jahan.

What’s the story?

A 25-year-old man was threatening Hasina Jahan over the last two months. He was finally arrested by police after a complaint filed by Jahan. The officer told Hindustan Times how the man was threatening her. “First it was Jahan’s former domestic help who started calling her, demanding money.”

He continued, “Then it was a man, claiming to be the woman’s son. He was demanding money and threatened that otherwise, he will post her personal photographs and mobile numbers on social media. The person also hurled abuses at her.” Initially, Jahan had ignored the calls. But later it seemed to have gone out of control. She went on to lodge an official complaint of Sunday and the police took the charge. “Scanning both the numbers from where she was getting the calls, we picked up the accused on Tuesday night. A case has been started. We are also looking for the woman,” the officer said.

Not first time for Jahan

However, this is not the first time that Jahan made it to the headlines. Earlier she had come under the spotlight following the issues with an Indian cricket team member. The couple got separated but Jahan many times shared Shami’s picture on her social media accounts.

She had also invited religious trolls after the Ram temple Bhoomi Pujan in Ayodhya. Even then she had complained about receiving death and rape threats at the Lalbazar headquarter, Kolkata as per a police officer. Later, she had urged before the Calcutta High Court to provide security to her and her daughter.
Hasina Jahan is quite active on social media. She entered the entertainment world after the separation with the Indian pacer Mohammed Shami.
