Star RCB set to be ruled out for the first half IPL 2023 season

India and Australia are engaged in a battle for the ages in the Border Gavaskar trophy. India holds a 2-0 lead in the series after having won at Nagpur and Delhi in two and half days each. The wins in the first two tests mean that Rohit Sharma and his men have retained the Border Gavaskar trophy with two games to play. 

 

Post the test series, India will play a three game ODI series against Australia. The player's will then return to their franchise cricket as the 2023 season of TATA IPL begins from 31st March with defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings locking horns at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad

 

Glenn Maxwell to miss first half of IPL - 

 

Royal challengers Bangalore are one of the few original teams who are yet to win the TATA IPL title. Ahead of the season the three times IPL runners up were dealt a huge blow. Star Australia player and RCB all rounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out for the first half of the tournament. 

 

The Australian allrounder got injured while playing for his side Victoria in a game against South Australia. Maxwell hurt his wrist and was in pain as he fell to the turf and winced. Maxwell left the field in pain and did not come back out. The medical team is still waiting to see if Maxwell can once again pick up the bat. 

 


Maxwell's previous injury record - 

 

Glenn Maxwell has suffered a fractured leg just after the end of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Maxwell has missed the entire Big bash league and the Australian home season. The Australian all rounder spoke how difficult it was to sit at home and miss action. 

 

Hazlewood also out for undisclosed period - 

 

RCB is also likely to lose Josh Hazlewood for an undisclosed period. The right arm fast bowler is out of the Border Gavaskar trophy after failing yo recover from Achilles injury. This would mean that RCB head into TATA IPL 2023 season with the possibility of their two big players likely to miss the first half of the tournament
