Twitter reacts to Stuart Broad’s planning get wicket of Harry Tector

England team is back on the field as they are hosting Ireland in a one off test match. The game is being played at the famed home of cricket at Lord’s. The game is a huge test for Ireland who are taking their baby steps in test cricket. For England this is the chance to get back in shape as Ben Stokes and his men will be having their eyes on the big Ashes series in a few weeks time.

The story as it happened –

Ben Stokes won the toss and chose to put Ireland into bat first. The English team went into the game without James Anderson as the 41 year old was rested with more tougher games ahead. 25 year old Josh Tongue the right arm pacer made his debut for the English side.

Stuart Broad sets up to dismiss Tector –

In the absence of James Anderson the task of leading the English bowling unit fell onto 36 year old Stuart Broad. The right arm pacer was in his elements right from the start. But it was his battle with Harry Tector that stole the show. Tector, is touted to be one of the better batting talents to be coming out of Ireland.

On Thursday though he was found out by the experience of Broad who had the youngster out for a 2nd ball duck. Broad had Tector going for a flick and the ball went to Potts who was standing at leg slip just kept for the Ireland batter. Broad had his hands on his mouth as he couldn’t believe the plan and the field placement was perfect.

Ireland lose 5 early wickets –

Ireland opened the batting with James McCollom and Peter Moor and the pair stitched 15 run stand for the 1st wicket. Moor was the first to go to Broad LBW for 12, then Broad got the wickets of captain Andrew Balbirnie and Tector for ducks. Paul Stirling then came out and scored 30 off 35 balls with 5 fours before was caught by Bairstow off Leach. Broad then got the big wicket of McCollom post lunch for 37 off 108 balls with 5 fours caught by Root to leave the visitors at 98/5.
