Watch! Arshdeep Singh continues his good form with the ball in county cricket

Indian team in a few weeks is set to play West Indies in a tour lasting an entire month. The tour begins with 2 match test series as India, starts its next cycle in World Test Championships. One bowler who isn’t part of the test team yet is none other than 24 year old Arshdeep Singh. The left arm pacer is currently playing for Kent in the Division one of the county championships.

The story so far –

Arshdeep Singh made his county debut for Kent in the last game against Surrey which went down in history. Despite setting a target of 501 for Surrey, the Kent bowlers helplessly watched the team from London with the game with ease. Arshdeep picked 2 wickets apiece in both innings. The next opponents for Kent are Northamptonshire, who won the toss and chose to bat first.

Arshdeep Singh continues to shine with the ball –

Asked to bowl first, the Kent bowlers showed their class as they bowled out the home team for mere 237 in the 65th over. Arshdeep Singh showed his class with the ball as he sent down 15 overs and picked 2/56 with one maiden over. Arshdeep got the wicket of opener Emilio Gay for 15, followed by captain Proctor for 7.


Wes Agar fifer rips off Northants –

Batting after winning the toss, Northamptonshire were all out for 237. The top scorer was Keogh who scored 97 off 147 balls with 13 fours to his name. He found support from Whiteman who scored 40 and later 26 from Saif Zaib and 35 by Tom Taylor. The leading wicket taker for Kent was Wes Agar with 5/63 from his 15 overs. Qadri picked 3 wickets with his spin.

Kent end the day strong –

Ben Compton was the only batter out as he was bowled by Sanderson for 4. From there on, T. Muyeye and Daniel Bell Drummond added an unbeaten 93 runs in 26.2 overs as Kent ended the day at 110/1 from 31 overs. Kent are currently in the 2nd last place just ahead of their opponents for the game, as both the teams need a win to avoid relegation.
