Watch! Controversy erupts over a footage of Mohammad Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja

India ended the 1st day of the 1st test match in a strong position as they trail the Australians by 100 runs. The visitors were bowled out for 177 just after tea on the 1st day. The entire day was a roller coaster for the Australian team as they got outdone by the amazing spin bowling of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin. The pair collected 8 wickets between them as the Australians batters looked all at sea. At the end of the Rohit Sharma put more misery into the Australian wounds with a classy half century.

Footage of Jadeja and Siraj makes the rounds –

One fan uploaded a short clip on Twitter of a footage which had Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Siraj. The two Indian players could be seen talking something as Jadeja made his way to Siraj and picked something from his hands. Jadeja seemed to rubbing or doing something to his index finger as Rohit Sharma was setting the field.

The fan who recorded the 32 second video wrote “What do you think of this @tdpaine36 looks like one player giving grippo to the bowler and him rubbing it all over his spinning finger to me. Thoughts?. Former Australian skipper Tim Paine was quick to reply and said “Interesting”.


Rohit Sharma leads the Indian chase as KL Rahul falls –

India began the 1st innings in a hurry as 13 runs came off the 1st over. The Indian team at one point was scoring at 5 runs per over. Rohit Sharma was the main aggressor as he scored his 15th test half century. Sharma was not out on 56 off 69 balls with 9 fours and 1 six off Nathan Lyon.

The Indian captain was on 47 when he smacked two back to back 4’s to reach his half century. KL Rahul on the other hand gave Todd Murphy his 1st wicket when he was out caught and bowled for 20. At stumps, Rohit was batting with Ashwin who was yet to open his account after facing 5 balls.
